Nora-gama
Noragama is only pleasant walk from the centre of town. The cafe and pottery gallery itself is a traditional Japanese farm house which has been simply renovated to feel like you just stepped into Japan of 50 years ago. The cafe serves a variety of food and drink such as Japanese curry and soup curry, coffee, tea, and alcohol. Credit cards are accepted.
The cafe is closed on Thursdays however, during winter, the cafe is only open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Pottery lessons are also available with advanced bookings. Classes run for two hours starting at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 8 p.m. Class sizes are limited to eight people. Classes cost 3,000Yen and include coffee and piece of cake. Pieces made by guests can be shipped domestically or internationally however, the cost of shipping is not included in the price. Be advised that it may take a few months to receive your piece, as it needs to be fired and glazed.
