Asahidake Ropeway Opens June 13
The Asahidake Ropeway will open from June 13 ~ 28. It will then be closed from June 29 ~ July 4 for routine seasonal maintenance. It will then re-open on July 5, or once the maintenance has been completed.
The Asahidake Ropeway allows visitors to easily visit the upper portions of the highest mountain in Hokkaido. The sights include the only alpine level of flowers on the island and an exciting active volcanic steam vent.
While world-renowned in the winter for its powder snow, summer is actually the main attraction for visitors, and vistas should not be missed.
