New Year's Eve Fireworks
New Year's Eve revelers in Furano have two choices to see fireworks at the stroke of midnight.
The New Furano Prince Hotel has a great fireworks show, along with lots of other fun outdoor activities beginning at 10 PM next to the Ropeway Station.
Another option is at Hinode Park (Koen) in the town of Kamifurano, about 20 km north of Furano. Festivities there get going at 11:15, with the lighting of a giant kanji on the hillside at precisely 12:00 AM, followed by an equally impressive fireworks show. The park is a 15-minute walk from Kamifurano Station.
