First Flowers



As usually mentioned, the "official" flower season that everyone gets excited about and for which Furano is justly famous doesn't really begin until the latter half of June.
However, that doesn't mean there are other flowers for flower lovers to enjoy. The daffodils are currently blooming, as are the Corydalis Ambigua, or "Ezo Engosaku" in Japanese. This is a type of poppy, the bulbs of which the Ainu people of Hokkaido included in their diet.
