Furano #1 High Speed Quad--Status Update
Early last season, the #1 Quad chair, adjacent to the Furano Ropeway in the Furano Zone, suffered a season-ending mechanical failure. This caused ripple effects all across the mountain for the rest of the season.
Needless to say, the resort has made repairing the lift a top priority this summer. As we near the start of the new season, many potential visitors are asking whether the lift has been repaired and will be ready to go.
According to several conversations I've had with those working in Ski Ops over the last several months, the repairs are moving along well, and all should be ready to go by late December (the normal time to open the #1 Quad).
The resort released this official statement today:
Regarding the Furano Downhill No. 1 High-Speed Quad
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused by the extended suspension of service last season due to a cableway equipment failure.
We are currently undergoing repair work in preparation for a return to service in time for next season.
As usual, service is scheduled to resume in late December.
