Furanon Trial Race
Here's a fun event for those who think they've tried everything:
The Furanon Trial Ski Race.
What is a Furanon? Furanon is the official mascot character of the Furano Ski Resort. He is modeled after the Hokkaido red fox, a very common sight around here.
What is a trial ski race? Furanon, in full mascot costume, will ski down a simple race course while all competitors observe him. He will be timed, but the result will be unknown to the participants. Then, one at time, competitors will ski the same course and attempt to match their time as closely as possible to Furanon's official time. The person whose time is closest to Furanon's is the winner!!

Time: 13:00 (1:00 PM) signup is from 12:00 to 12:45 at the base of the Kitanomine Gondola.
Location: Just above the Kitanomine Gondola base station.
Cost: 500 yen
