Spring Flower Update
The flowers are coming!!
Don't get too excited yet, they are still many weeks off, but the early promising signs are visible for the flower fans.
One small section of one field at Farm Tomita has been planted with violas, which are obviously hearty enough for the near-freezing spring evenings in Furano. For the truly impatient, things are much more progressed in the Tomita greenhouse, with some lavender buds already appearing. According to the gardener, they won't bloom for another 3 weeks, and that's in the greenhouse!! The outdoor lavender fields typically begin blooming around June 20, although this year seems warmer than usual, so may be a bit earlier. We'll be sure to keep you updated.
The green tulip leaves have just popped out of the soil, so not yet.
Think flowers, and we'll see you in Furano.
