June 2 Flower Update
It's June, and that means that flower season is upon us...well sorta, mostly, kinda.
Yes, we have flowers. No, they are not in full bloom yet.
Most of the flowers were planted in the last two weeks, so they are doing a great job of getting bigger, but they aren't there yet. These things take time. Remember, it's not nice to rush Mother Nature.
And the lavender? Not yet, at least outside of the greenhouse. The rule of thumb for the lavender is about June 20, with variations according to the weather. I will provide a fearless lavender prediction next week. Since we are experiencing record high temps this week, that may speed things up a bit.
All this hasn't stopped the faithful from rushing out to the flower fields, but the current state of the flowers is nowhere close to the famous rainbow photos people have in their minds. Not yet.
