June 13 - Flower Update
Looking good, Houston, looking good.
I previously said I would soon provide a fearless lavender prediction. Well, I can now fearlessly proclaim that the lavender is now blooming! Yeah! There are a few varieties of lavender, but at least one has begun blooming. This will make the lavender lovers happy.
Regarding the rest of the fields, it depends on the type of flower. Some are quite gloriously blooming, while others are still a few weeks off.
*Big news for visitors coming by car:
Beginning today, the large Nakafurano municipal parking lot just below Tomita Melon is now charging 500 yen to park for the day. The Tomita Farm lots below and above the main fields are still free, but will arguably be more crowded now. The large dirt lot to the south of Tomita Melon is also free. The municipal lot is the most convenient, but you will now have to pay for the privilege.
